Very active week for I-960 campaign
17 Sept 2007
Tomorrow (Tuesday) in Seattle, Wednesday in Olympia, Thursday morning
in Everett, Thursday afternoon in Gig Harbor (forgot to mention GH's event
in previous update).
We're not coasting to victory; we're working super hard to explain
the beautiful symphony of I-960. The more you know about I-960, the more
likely it is for you to support it. It's a smart, balanced, reasonable
proposal that protects taxpayers by pushing the Legislature to follow the
law, abide by the Constitution, report on its tax-hiking activities, and
adhere to the principles of representative democracy.
Governor Gregoire says I-960 is "unnecessary" and that it's "extra
handcuffs aren't needed." I-960 gives voters something more to count on
than just the Governor's word. Governor Gregoire and the Democrats in
charge of the Legislature have promised that higher taxes aren't needed to
sustain their huge increase in spending. I-960 gives voters something
more to rely on than just politicians' promises.
Tomorrow, I've got an hour and a half presentation (TIM EYMAN, SINNER
OR SAINT -- the website imagery is hilarious --
